![]() ![]() Any help and/or suggestions would be appreciated. I am not ready to do a full factory reset until I have explored “ALL” options since the camera does at time function. I have tried the cache delete, force stop and soft reset. However, the camera works fine with any/all other apps that connect with the camera, i.e. It is stuck in “selfie” mode and unusable. Problem: My 8 month old S8 with no damage as a “Camera Fail” error message when choosing the camera app Icon. If the above steps doesn’t fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component. Try to check if the problem is still present. If it does then backup your phone data and do a factory reset Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. Solution: Are the photos and videos taken by the phone stored in the microSD card? If your phone has a microSD card installed then try removing it then set the default save location of the camera to the internal storage of the phone. Thank you in advance for all of your help! I use my camera almost daily as I am an avid photographer and the reason I bought this phone was for the camera. It was working fine just the other day so I don’t know what could have caused this. I have not recently dropped the phone or gotten it wet or anything that could have damaged it. To which I followed your steps in an attempt to correct that problem. More recently when I take a picture and try to switch over to the gallery to see if it has saved I get a notification stating that the system UI is not responding. The only way that I have been able to successfully take photos is through snapchat or pulling the camera up and screenshotting what is displayed on the screen. The notification comes without me actually starting a recording, I just have to switch it to that mode. ![]() When I put it on the slow motion and super slow motion a notification pops up saying “the recording failed” and then exits out of the app. ![]() However, now it will not save a photo from any mode i.e. At first I could only take a picture through pro mode and it would save. I have restarted the phone over and over again between attempts at fixing this problem and I still face the same results. I went to Google and Reddit for help and the suggestions included to check if the SD card was fully inserted (it is) and to clear your storage/data cache (I did for camera, gallery and system UI and cache partition). I tried to take the same picture about 5 or 6 times before getting frustrated and quitting. That screen would then quickly disappear out of my gallery in a matter of seconds. All I’d get was a gray screen with an exclamation mark on it. I first came across this problem about a week or so ago when I was trying to take a quick picture but the image never saved. So I am praying that you may be able to help me. I have even just factory reset my phone to find that I did nothing to correct the issue.
